My trip to Utah: Part 1

Shirt: Garage sale / Scarf: Target / Cardigan: My mom's / Jeans: Abercrombie / Belt: Target / Shoes: Styles 4 Less

So as all of my readers know, I was in Utah during Spring Break! My mom and I visited some wonderful friends who had just recently moved to SLC. And the funny thing ? We have never been to Salt Lake ! Couldn't that just be some kind of Mormon joke ? Two Mormons, never been to SLC. It's insane. But I digress. So anyway, on the Friday before Spring break, we rented a car and drove the 8 miles from Vegas to Salt Lake. It was beautiful, of course. Utah drives are always guh-or-juss. Our friends live in a little town outside of SLC that goes by the name of Centerville. It's such a quaint place. I simply adore small towns, but strictly for visits only. I couldn't survive in such a small town for long. I'm a city girl at heart.

On the Friday that we arrived, I saw The Hunger Games (for the 2nd time) with my friend and her friends, and then we all settled in for sleep. We would have to get up early for Conference the next day, of course!

On Saturday, I accompanied my friend to her Bishop's house for the morning session of conference. It was there that a very cute boy happened to catch my eye. Long story short, I recieved a paper from him that had some specials numbers on it, he was sweet, but nothing serious happened, and even our sweet conversations came to an end upon my arrival back home in Vegas.

After the afternoon session, we went to an even smaller town that was so small I don't even remember its name. But it was so wonderful, there were all these little shops, and the most fabulous diner named Archibalds. I took a picture of the seats, above. I thought the whole 11 wives thing was hilarious. Such a stereotype. And there was even a gift shop in the restaurant. There were all these lovely signs with quotes on them, and beautiful furniture that I will need to have if I ever inherit a million dollars. (:

Stay tuned for part two, which will include my general conference experience, as well as my visit to the temple.

Spring has sprung !

Dress: Thrifted & refashioned / Lace sleeved shirt: H&M / Shoes: (not pictured) Old Navy / Glasses: Target

This may or may not have been what I wore on Easter Sunday-- Approx. 1 & a half weeks ago ! I honestly did mean to post it the day of or at the very latest, the monday after. But let's be honest, I'm a 15 year old girl. I got lazy and ended up being bombarded with school work fresh out of Spring Break. So now here is the dress that I wore on Easter. Isn't it a beauty ? I found it thrifting, and it was particularly grandma-like. But I could see its potential (even if my mom couldn't). So this was the finished masterpiece. I don't know if you can tell, but it has an adorable denim collar. That, and the buttons all the way down, and the adorable grey, blue, and yellow floral print, is what made me fall in love.

Also, I have been looking for glasses like these for months. So the moment I saw them in Target, I had to get them. Even if that involved calling my mom to bring me more money. ;p $13 later, these babies are all mine. Yes, I definitely get teased by my friends for wearing them, but I am too in love with these things to care !

I posted about my Utah trip during Spring Break, and I'll definitely have those posts up soon. There's outfit pictures from SLC, temple pictures, and even a mini "love" story I might share! (Oh, the joys of being 15)

Thanks everybody who reads my posts, it means so much to see that I get some pageviews ! You all are so amazing and beautiful and wonderful !!!!

I'm in Utah !

Hey guys ! Sorry for the lack of posts, but I've been busy visiting friends in UTAH.
As you can tell its been really exciting and fun.
I'm in a little town right near salt lake city called centerville. It's so different from Vegas, I can't even tell you. Like, you can leave your bike outside without it being stolen. What ?!?!??

Haha, so we've had some fun and one bad experience, and I'll be here until Tuesday, so I'll blog about it after (:

I hope you've all had a good weekend !

First ever "Double Sunday" !

So last week I introduced "Double Sundays" to the readers of this blog.
But I totally slacked last week and didn't do it. Sorry !
Basically, every Sunday I'll make a list of TWO (hense, double) favorites for that week for music, books, blogs, diys, and outfits. So here goes my first one !

Music:
My two favorite songs for the week would probably have to be

-Eyes Open by Taylor Swift
&
-Woman Like You by Lee Brice

Books:
-Two words: Hunger. Games. I read them over again before seeing the movie on Thursay night.
-The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. Nicholas Sparks is my favorite writer, and I love his books, but I also hate them. They can be so tragic and have me balling but he wraps a beautiful bow of love around it (and I'm a sucker for love) and so I love all of his books. This one was no exception. I recommend it if you're looking for a good cry.

Blogs:
-Kinsey on Sincerelykinsey. Can I just say that I discovered her blog last weekend, and I've already been through half of it's contents ! (I hope that didn't sound creepy) Her diy's and fashion posts inspired the heck out of me, and she is so incredibally beautiful. I highly recommend checking her out !
-Charity on Somedreamingtree / c'est la belle vie. I look forward to her outfit posts so much. Everyday I check my dashboard hoping to see her beautiful face in a beautiful new outfit. Follow her, follow her now.

Diy's:
-This Jewelry Box Diy made from a book ! Discovered it yesterday, and started making one yesterday. Just need to cut out a few hundred more pages.
-This Geometric Necklace Diy made from cut-up paint samples ! I've always had a secret obsession with paint samples. I've always thought it was so cool that they were free and that there must be some amazing thing you could do with them. Well, boys and girls, this is it. (Both of these beautiful tutorials are by Sincerelykinsey, who I mentioned above.)

Outfits:

These two girls are such an inspiration for me. I love every outfit I see them in ! And the shirts they're both wearing are to. die. for.

So I hope you guys enjoyed this double sunday !
No pictures or videos are mine unless otherwise mentioned.
Stay tuned for more outfits this week !

Hunger games

So I went to the midnight showing of the hunger games and let me just say, IT WAS PERFECT.
I'm so serious, I have read each of the books a couple times and I'm pretty much obsessed with it. I've been waiting so long, and I was expecting way too much of the movie. But you know what ? It was way better than I could have ever dreamed. They hit everything on the nose. Yes, there were things they changed, but I could tell they only did it because it would make it too confusing, and it still flowed pretty well. And they didn't make any big changes, really. Everything worked perfectly together.
Pretty much, this is my new favorite movie. That is all.

Oh and I didn't have time this week to make a hunger games shirt, so I wore a sparkly gold shirt that I thought could represent fire or something. And I of course wore my hair braided and I wore a necklace with a gold bird on it and a pearl. I thought that worked. I listened to safe and sound all day. It was such a perfect movie guys, I just can't get over how much I loved it. Every time I see the trailer I want to go see it again and again and again.

Have you seen the hunger games yet ? What did you think of it ? (:

Happy St. Patty's Day (Outfit Post)

Outfit:
-Olive green cardigan // Target
-Navy floral print tank top // Target
-Distressed jeans // An outdoor swapmeet
-Belt // Target
(And I'm shown wearing two different pairs of shoes which I will explain, promise !)
-Ankle fringe mocasins // Minetonka
-Oxfords // Target
-Owl necklace // Forever21

By the outfit shown, I'm sure you've guessed I love Target. I love Target an awful lot, actually.

Anyway, it rained today ! When you live in the desert like I do, and it can get up to 90 degrees during the winter, you learn to enjoy these rare rainy days. My favorite type of weather is rainy and stormy (minus the wind), so today was perfect. I often dream about living in a place where rain is a daily occurance, like Washington. I would absolutely love that. Anyway, my mom took pictures of me in the rain, and that's why I changed into my oxfords, because they're leather and I didn't want my moccasins to get ruined. I also have no idea why my belt is unbuckeled in one of the pictures. I think it got uncomfortable or something. Maybe it'll turn into the new trend, eh ?

I hope you all had a fun (but not too fun ;p) St. Patrick's Day!
Remember to look for my "Double Sunday" tomorrow !

Forever, Becca

New blog ideas

Okay guys.
So I am definitely not the best at keeping up with anything, including this blog, without something to look forward to ! I'm just like incapable of it, and I'm sorry.

So, I'm going to add some weekly things, and some things that will be semi-weekly, etc.

I brainstormed today, and I've come up with a couple ideas.

1) Tutorial Tuesdays.
-I've seen some of these around, and it's a beautiful idea. So every Tuesday (mostly) I will post some kind of tutorial on here ! I already have some ideas lined up and I'm super excited (:
2) Double Sundays.
-Don't take my word on this, but I'm pretty sure I came up with this all on my own. Every Sunday I will post a list of TWO (hence "double") favorites for a list of, say, 5 examples. (Songs, celebrities, diy's, outfit posts, etc.)

So that's all I've really come up with, but if you have any ideas, I strongly encourage you to comment them below ! As you all know, I'm new in the blogger world and it makes me nervous at times ! (:

Thanks ladies !

Forever, Becca ♥

P.S. Check out my outfit post from last night ! I posted it late, so you probably haven't seen it yet
